The wild popularity of the smash hit Facebook app game called Farmville has lead the digital farming population in a new direction and now the game happens to be headed straight for Apple’s App Store. This, along with news that Guitar Hero will also be offered in app format has developers and fans alike in a high state of excitement over the future of gaming on the iPhone, iPad and other similar devices. It could mean big things for the mobile gaming and social network gaming communities, as well, many of whom’s fans are excited that games are finally spreading beyond a single platform to be playable through different devices – something experts have foreseen but wondered when the time would finally arrive. Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc. recently revealed at one of his profile news conferences that the new games will be a big part of changes coming to the App Store in an effort to draw a larger audience into the web site and also expand Apple’s market share in the mobile device sphere.
Farmville is actually based on Flash technology from Adobe Software and that is why it has so quickly become a hit on Facebook where games using this style are going to be easier to spread. The Flash free version of Farmville will be adjusted to suit the needs of Apple users instead of Apple finally allowing Flash technology. Guitar hero will make use of the new built in strumming mechanism that the iPhone has to offer.
