Safari 5 Now Available for Mac and Windows Machines

Browser wars have been heating up recently with all sorts of different browsers vying for the consumer’s attention including Internet Explorer from Microsoft, Chrome from Google, Firefox from Mozilla and, of course, Safari from Apple. The latest update for the Safari browser will give it a host of new features that users may find quite attractive, including a variety of search options for looking on the web, upgraded Reader software that is capable of reading the HTML 5 extension and a big burst of speed. By making use of the Nitro Java Script engine in Safari 5, updating it and then bringing about a 30% boost in speed compared with the previous Safari 4, Apple hopes to draw in those who want to use a lesser known browser not only for the Mac, but also for Windows based machines. Experts see this is a smart move for Apple which has a very long standing rivalry with Microsoft and needs to be able to get a bit more market share in areas that are not related to Mac computers or smart phone devices.

The data thorough put increase will be a big lure for those who are looking for a boost in performance and by making use of the Safari Developer Program, a number of different developers are now putting out their own unique version of Safari that will offer many different features the company might not otherwise be interested in supporting. Not only will HTML 5 extensions be supported, CSS 3 and Java Script also get support.
